IPL 2022 Date

IPL governing body that is BCCI held a meeting on 24 Feb and made some key decisions regarding the TATA IPL 2022 date. The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League will be played in a bio-bubble environment in a single state to avoid air travel which is the biggest threat to the spread of Covid-19, thereby it may affect the players and the League.

The BCCI announced that the league will commence from 26th March and the final will be played on 29th May 2022

Format of IPL 2022

As two new teams were added to the league the IPL governing body decided to change the format of the league and a new format was announced according to which:

To decide on the above, the teams have been divided into two groups based on the number of IPL champion’s titles won followed by the number of final matches played by the respective teams.
