How to Play Slapjack Card Game?

This game can be played between 2 to 9 players using a standard deck of cards, except jokers. However, playing this card game with a maximum of six players is recommended or players can use two decks of playing cards with more players.

Object

The object of the game is to be the player who first slapped the jack as any player places a card at the center and get all the card, leaving all the other players with no cards with them.

Deal

Prior to the game, a dealer will be selected based on the lowest card drawn. Each player draws a card from the shambled deck and the player who gets the lowest numbered card will become the dealer. The dealer deals the cards one at a time to each player until the entire shambled deck is finished. After the cards are distributed, the players need to face down the cards without seeing their cards.

Gameplay

The player sitting left to the dealer will begin the game by facing up a topmost card from their pile and placing it at the center. The other players follow the play clockwise. The game continues and players keep playing cards in such an order until a jack is placed in the center.

When any player plays a jack, each and every player slaps the jack. This is the point where all the fun and enjoyment begin. The first player to slap the jack will pick the entire pile of cards that have been played.

1. Slapjack card game is usually played between 2 to 4 players with a standard deck of 52 cards. The maximum number of players that can play the game is 9.
2. Players are not allowed to look at their cards before facing up them to place at the center.
3. When a player slaps a card placed in the center, which is not a jack, the player must return one card, face down to the player who slapped the card.
4. Even if a player doesn’t have cards he can still play the game and slap the next jack to win the pile. If the player fails to win the pile until the next jack is slapped that player is out of the game.
5. The player who wins all the cards wins the game.
