SRI vs PAK Asia Cup 2022 final match preview

Asia Cup 2022
SRI vs PAK Asia Cup 2022 final:
On Sunday, September 11, Pakistan and Sri Lanka square off in the Asia Cup 2022 championship game in Dubai. On Friday, September 9, both sides competed in the last Super 4 match, with the Lankans defeating the Men in Green.

The two squads are now anticipating the championship. With a five-wicket victory, Dasun Shanaka’s team will enter the championship match feeling more assured than their rivals. They have dominated every chase in every game they have won. They’ll try to capitalize on their strength in the grand finale as well.

In the Super 4 stage, Sri Lanka and Pakistan each defeated India and Afghanistan to secure a spot in the championship game. Both teams appear to be well-prepared for the big game after playing some pretty tough cricket. Pakistan last won the Asia Cup in 2012, while Sri Lanka last did it in 2014. We now have a new champion after India won the championship in the last two iterations.

The Asia Cup is hosted in the UAE in 2022. There will be 13 matches overall in the entire tournament. India is the current title holder after defeating Bangladesh in the championship match in 2018.

The Men in Blue were unable to defend their Asia Cup championship, though, as they were eliminated after dropping two straight games. India has also won the most number of Asia Cup tournaments, with seven. Pakistan has won two titles, while Sri Lanka holds five.

SRI vs PAK Asia Cup 2022 final: Team Updates

Sri Lanka

In this event, the Lankans won three games by chasing. To advance to the finals, they pursued a record 183 against Bangladesh and two scores of more than 170 against Afghanistan and India. In the three games, they also discovered that many players had crossed the finish line by raising their hands.

Dilshan Madhushanka, who emerged as a hero in the game against India, has emerged as their new ball-handling hero. The two spinners Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana are Sri Lanka’s best bet with the ball.

An Asia Cup victory will be the ideal boost for the national squad coming into the T20 World Cup at a time when the nation is experiencing political and economic unrest. If it occurs, the supporters will be thrilled, and it will also make them smile, which will be a tremendous accomplishment in and of itself.

Pakistan

Pakistan also played some outstanding cricket during this competition. With Naseem Shah hitting the game-winning runs against Afghanistan, they maintained their composure. With the T20 World Cup coming up in a month, they are collectively peaking at the ideal time. The team has greatly benefited from Mohammad Rizwan’s form during this round.

Shah’s development as a bowler has also been one. His batting talent was recently made public during the game versus the Afghans. Both their batting and bowling lineups offer depth. Concerns about Captain Babar Azam’s performance will also be allayed if he performs well in the championship game.
