After completion of the IPL 2022 Mega auction, Mumbai Indians fans are curious to know whether Jofra Archer is playing IPL or not. But British star pacer Jofra Archer cleared that he is not available to play IPL 2022 during an interview with the franchise.

On day 2 of the mega auction, Mumbai Indians successfully won the bid on Jofra Archer for Rs 8 crore. Soon the fans were excited to know that franchise was successful to make an amazing combination of two devoted white-ball pacers, Jorfa Archer and Jasprit Bumrah.

However, recently in an interview with the franchise officials, Archer shed light on that he won’t be able to join the squad in the 15^th edition of IPL as he still needs time to recover from his injury.

Jorfa Archer Statement in an Interview with Franchise

Jorfa Archer stated that from the beginning he is being saying that he won’t be able to participate in the 15^th edition of IPL due to his injury. He also said that he is recovering very rapidly but still won’t be a part of IPL 2022. “I don’t want to disappoint anyone. So I’m going to say next year,” he added.

Earlier IPL chief officer Hemang Amin informed that Jorfa Archer will be not participating in IPL 2022 but confirmed his availability in IPL 2023 and 2024 seasons.

“The England Cricket Board has allowed Jorfa Archer to register himself in IPL auction with a view to prospective participation in 2023 and 2024, as due to his current injury it is improbable that he can take a part in IPL 2022” Hemang Amin informed the franchises ahead of the mega auction of IPL 2022.

The Injury That Pulls Jofra Archer out of IPL 2022

Archer has not been playing cricket for almost a year now. He was expected to come back in the England tour of West Indies. But he had to go under surgery for the second time in December due to his recurring stress fracture in his elbow.
