The chairman of the Indian Premier League Mr. Brijesh Patel sometime back confirmed to the Gulf News that they were planning to host the 15th season of IPL in Maharashtra, India, between four venues in Mumbai’s Reliance Ground, CCI, the DY Patil Stadium, and Wankhede Stadium and in the stadium of Pune. However, Patel also said that they have always prepared a plan B, in case there is an increase in the covid-19 cases in India then the league will be played in the UAE.

IPL 2022 Mega Auction’s Guidelines

  • The Mega Auction of the IPL 2022 will take place in a bio-bubble.
  • On February 9th, 10th, and 11th the officials representing their respective franchises should visit the venue with the clear test results of covid-19 and negative RT-PCR report. These covid-19 testing will be conducted and arranged by the BCCI medical agency.
  • For all the teams in this mega auction of IPL 2022, no RTM (Right to Match) will be available.
  • Especially from the domestic circuit, the purse of the IPL 2022 has been raised to Rs 90 crore from Rs 80 crore to accommodate more players.
  • After the overseas trips, all the participants who have returned to India during the last 15 days will have to undergo seven-day mandatory quarantine with the test reports negative on days 8 and 9.
  • On February 11, the BCCI officials will keep a close watch on those who are arriving at the hotel to their teams, and they will be monitoring them for the symptoms of covid-19.
  • On February 12 and 13 the testing will be conducted between 12 am to 7 am to ensure the smooth process for the mega auction of IPL season 15. All the respective members will stay in their rooms until they are declared negative results for the covid-19 virus.
  • With the medical team appointed by the BCCI, all the attendees have to submit their full details including the negative reports and vaccination reports of the covid-19.
  • At the auction table, all the participants will have to compulsory wear the masks in the auditorium.
